He started as a climber — working his way through removals, rigging, and storm response before building the company around one principle: the person who gives you the estimate should be the same person doing the work. Martin Tree and Turf Care is the result of that. No middlemen, no dispatch centers, no subcontractors James has never met.
James earned his ISA Certified Arborist credential — Cert #SO-356834A — and his Tree Climbers International (TCI) Certified Tree Technician designation because the work demanded it. Arborist reports for Greenville County permits, insurance documentation for storm claims, risk assessments prepared for use in court: all of that requires a named, verifiable credential. James holds it. The TCI credential tests climbing, rigging, and safe removal competency in the field rather than on paper.

Operations Manager
Brian runs job sites day-to-day — coordinating crew, equipment sequencing, and cleanup. He came up under James and handles both tree work and turf restoration, making sure the yard leaves looking right. He's worked alongside James across hundreds of jobs in Greenville, Spartanburg, Anderson, and Pickens counties.
Jared Earp
Site Lead
A Marine-trained engineer and former wildland firefighter who felled trees in Montana's Bitterroot National Forest, Jared specializes in directional felling — putting a tree exactly where it needs to go. He runs the crew and equipment on site, with two rules: no unnecessary risks, and leave the property better than we found it.
